Global Postural Stretching (GPS) w/Dan Hellman & Bryce Turner
We just completed the Global Postural Stretching (GPS) course with Dan Hellman and Bryce Turner, designated instructors of the SomaTraining Paradigm by Guy VOYER, D.O.
Global Postural Stretching is one of the most popular techniques designed by world renowned Osteopath Guy VOYER, DO. No matter what methods you use for pre-season conditioning, training, re-education or rehabilitation, it is necessary to place the targeted body part into a global posture. This allows you to rediscover the efficiency and fluidity of a movement. The GPS method is the perfect link between the joint, the muscles and all the fascia or connective tissue.
We learned over 90+ techniques to increase our patients’ function and performance. An interesting focus was the fascial link with the viscera, giving us many new tools for normalizing particular organs within the abdominal and pelvic regions of the body. There are 4 global stretches just for the liver alone! Other stretches we have been using with our patients are the kidneys, adrenals, parts of the colon, thoracic diaphragm, knee, shoulder girdle, and cervical spine. GPS must be performed with strict methodology and adapted to each individual and their ability.
We are looking forward to offering classes incorporating GPS with ELDOA. Stay tuned!
