Active Release Technique - Nerve
Erik got a chance to finally visit the Active Release Technique headquarters in Colorado Spring, CO. ART is back up and running seminars and to kick off the long awaited and new course called Nerve.
The Nerve course helped to define different compression types on the nerve and the force needed to compress them. Not much compression is actually needed. The Nerve Course offered three main protocol types: Terminal, Local and Long Tract.
During the course we palpated nerves in terminating in muscle, local to other structures, and used principles of relative motion to assist in treatment of the nerves. Often times these protocols may free the nerves from entrapment by softening the surrounding tissues.
